Exploring the Future of CO₂ Desublimation
About DecarbonICE
DecarbonICE is a Danish climate technology startup on a mission to transform how captured CO₂ is transported and handled. As Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) scales globally, efficient logistics will become a critical part of the value chain. We are developing innovative, container-based solutions that make CO₂ transport safe, flexible, and cost-effective by using standard shipping containers and existing logistics infrastructure.
At the same time, we are exploring new technologies that can further optimize the CO₂ value chain - from advanced cooling and solidification processes to smarter system integration and logistics. By combining engineering, innovation, and close collaboration with industry, DecarbonICE aims to become a leading technology provider for next-generation CO₂ logistics.
We’re looking for a curious engineering student to help investigate whether this technology could become an important future business area for DecarbonICE.
Your Opportunity
This position can be structured as:
Internship
MSc Thesis in collaboration with your university
A combination of both
You’ll work directly with the founders and contribute to defining the technical direction of an entirely new technology platform.
This is a research-oriented role with strong links to industrial application.
What You’ll Work On
Possible project activities include:
Reviewing the latest research on CO₂ desublimation
Comparing desublimation with conventional dry ice production
Evaluating thermodynamic performance and energy efficiency
Investigating heat exchanger technologies
Supporting technical dialogue with industrial partners
Identifying commercial applications and market opportunities
Preparing technology assessments and recommendations
